Seasons

Please enjoy the pictures of days just past when splashing in water, any kind of water, brought joyful relief from the weather. These days the summer heat has begun its retreat as the advances of fall march in with chills in the night air and hot tea in the mornings. Silent victims begin to fall lazily from their branches and speckle the still-green grass in our yard. We wrap ourselves in blankets as we watch TV in the evening and I am scrambling to find all my sweaters. That's not to say we won't still have a few more warm days here and there as summer lashes out in final efforts to hold its ground. But like every fall, the warmth of the midday will gradually grow less and less until our days are shrouded in gray and the cold moist air of winter fog. Until then, I will make every effort to bask in the beauty of this season when it is neither too hot or too cold, but just right.
