Moments in August

One day after a long day of swimming we realized we had forgotten diapers for Sani, so calling upon or creative talents we designed a diaper out of a gallon zip lock bag and poise pad:
Now switching to a bit more class, the ladies at church spent the summer studying about Queen Esther in the Bible.  To celebrate at the end all women and daughter's were invited to a Queen's banquet where some of the men in the church waiting on us and served up a yummy meal.  Cadence dressed for the occasion:
Speaking of Cadence, here's a sample of her organization skills as she helped Daddy put away a new package of diapers one day:
Eric and I got to attend a murder mystery dinner to raise funds for a non-profit org that helps create clean water sources in third world countries.  It had a 20's theme where we spent the evening in a "speakeasy" with the likes of Al Capone and other infamous personalities of that time period.  We enjoyed dressing the part, and spending an evening together with friends doing grown up things:
My friend Heidi and her hubby Aaron.  She's actually my supervisor at work as well, and an excellent singer as we found out that evening:
It's not an evening out without a little dancing!
 Eric looking suave:
And to end the moments of this month on a light note, there isn't a toddler I know who doesn't like putting on mom's shoes....work it Sani, work it!
